The elaborate roof truss construction can be seen especially well in the extensive dining room with its open kitchen. The spacious living area has an integrated kitchen and is furnitured puristically. The up-to-date and functional equipment leaves nothing to be desired. The big fridge-freezer with ice-cube dispensor invites to enjoy a drink at the adjoining bar. Other parts of the large basic equipment in this room are a oven, stove, dishwasher, espresso machine, coffee filter machine, washing machine, dryer, iron as well as a hi-fi system (including CD-player and internet radio). In many ways, the historically-charged ambience has been masterly combined with tasteful collectibles as for example the massive table of oak side panels of marble which is an inviting place for both feasting and lingering. In the south aligned extension of the building is the former „Krahnengaube“ (crane dormer), nowadays converted into a sheltered and peacefully situated balcony. A successful „change of use“ in the historical building. A seemingly free-floating iron staircase leads you to the galery. From there, the view opens up to the living room which is kept in warm natural tones. Here, too, the traditional and modern interpretation is combined in a high-quality, variable and spacious way. The restaured wooden plank flooring tells of old days. Not only here but in the whole Loft, a sense of history can be felt. The Lounge area with a modern 49 inch TV and cosy interior design radiates an intense atmosphere of well-being. Cob walls and ceilings create a pleasant indoor climate as they contain the heating or cooling system providing for a perfect temperature balance in any season. The exclusiveness is simple but inviting, the genuineness is impressive. This spacious area with about 80 square meters can be turned into a sleeping space so that another 6 persons can conveniently spend the night here. The originally-preserved, mortised wooden staircase leads you up to the island of relaxation – an indoor patio which can be opened up. Enjoy the magical lookout on Lake Constance, near Bregenz in Austria and the Swiss Canton of Appenzell. The impressive panoramic view of the Appenzell Alps looms on the horizon Even today, the spirit of the Fisherwoman of Lake Constance blows under the roof, where she apparently tied her nets. Take a seat, feel the vibration of this room and stay here whenever you want to give free rein to your thoughts. Hear the sounding ship signals, count the boats, see the Zeppelin airship floating by, take a sunbath, listen to the raindrops, watch the swarm of birds in the sky, enjoy the sunrise... count falling stars if the skies are clear, dream...there is a truly special holiday feeling waiting for you. On the same floor, there are two big sleeping rooms which have been decorated with a lot of care and can be darkened. One of the sleeping rooms has a divisible bed and a modern 32 inch TV. Both sleeping rooms have walk-in dormers with a standing casement window facing north. On Floor I next to the sleeping rooms, there are two bathrooms which are 8 and 15 square meters big. One of it is equipped with a big walk-in shower, mirror cabinet, towel warmer, hair dryer and toilet. The other bathroom contains a Physiotherm Infrared cabin for 2 persons, bath tub, shower with Kneipp hose, mirror cabinet, towel warmer, hair dryer, illuminated cosmetic mirror and toilet.

Description

There is a juwel under the roof, as unique as Lindau island. Embark a journey through the traces of time and open the door to an unforgettable, inspirational oasis of well-being.  In earlier times, it was the attic of a now heritage-protected merchant´s house built around 1728. In full harmony, it has now become a dream loft for holiday guests. The Loft´s special charme is due to the open roof beam construction as well as the visibly preserved original walls. Ambitious architecture has been rounded off by creating a uniqe symbiosis combining origin, tradition and modernity. The Loft offers almost limitless open space on 290 square metres and is situated on three floors. The open space is there for well-being and relaxing and can be shared with up to 10 people.

Please contact your host in advance to inform him about your approximated time of arrival.

Arrival between 2 pm and 4 pm. Departure until 10 am. 

Parking possibilities of Loft 1728: Loading and unloading your vehicle is allowed in front of the entrance of Loft 1728 between 8 and 11 a.m. Upon agreement with the Landlord, arrival or departure is also possible during other times. Usage of permanent parking spaces on parking lots P3 and P5 (8 minutes walking distance) is included.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Directions

In the middle of Lindau island Cramergasse 9 is in the center of Lindau island and only a stone's throw from the historical market place. Although directly located in the Old Town, it is very quiet around here - what is also due to the surrounding pedestrian area. In its narrow alleys and the ancient course of road, you will discover a lot of stores and restaurants. Just around the corner stretches out the weekly market, the theater, museums and churches. If you are in the mood, use the bathing possibilities at the lake. Lindau congress hall and Casino are only a few minutes away. Harbour and main station are 8 minutes away. 

Entrance of Cramergasse 9:  Loft 1728 is situated on three floors in the former attic of the nowadays heritage-protected merchant´s house. You can get access to the holiday home on the 2nd floor via the staircase in house „Cramergasse 9“. There is no lift and the apartment is not barrier free. There is a storage area for bicycles. Pets are not allowed. Please understand that all rooms are smoke-free.

Differing cancellation conditions

The guest can cancel free of charge until 30 days before arrival. The guest will be charged 90% of the price of the reservation if they cancel in the 30 days before arrival.

Tourist tax information
